If making a good impression is important to you, there are a few key things you can do to stand out as a new employee in a remote role.

Be proactive and introduce yourself to your team members. Send them an email or reach out through the company's chat system. Get to know them and let them get to know you.

Take initiative from the start. Don’t wait to be assigned tasks - look for ways you can be helpful and offer to help out with whatever needs to be done. This will show your new colleagues that you’re willing to go the extra mile and that you’re excited about being part of the team.

Be responsive and available when they need you. Return emails and calls promptly, and make sure to keep communication lines open. They should be able to rely on you to get work done and be there when they need you.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Often times asking questions can feel overly-formal when working remotely because you can't just pop into someone's office with one quick question. However, asking questions is a great way to show that you're interested in the work and willing to put in the effort to learn.

Be a team player, but also be comfortable working independently. In a remote role, you'll often have to work on your own and be self-motivated. But that doesn't mean you can't be a team player. Make sure to contribute to team meetings and offer help when it's needed.

Document your accomplishments. Keep a running list of the projects you've worked on, the tasks you completed, and the goals you achieved. This will come in handy when it's time for your performance review.

Lastly, remember to be engaging and participate in team discussions – even though you’re not physically in the same space, you can still make a positive impact by sharing your ideas and insights.

If you keep these things in mind, you’ll be well on your way to making a great impression working from home. So get out there and start building those relationships!
